Greedy Sheep Cabernet Merlot 2007

We are ready to release our Cabernet Merlot from the 2007 vintage onto the market.
We recently received a good write up on our Cabernet Merlot 2007 from Campbell Mattison at the Wine Front (sorry subscription needed).  Campbell (who also writes the Big, Red Wine Book) described the Cab Merlot as being 'absolutely bang on' and 'balanced, juicy flavour, smooth texture and a satisfying finish', giving it 90 points.
Another review can be found on the internet - "fine grained tannins that build to a lovely chewy texture, lovely black cabernet fruit".  Click here to read more.

Greedy Sheep is now exporting to the UK!

Greedy Sheep made it to a select list of wines that participated in a $100,000 UK online auction conducted by 'Naked Wines', the South Australian Government and Austrade.  Greedy Sheep Cabernet Merlot 2007 was picked up for export to the UK in a scheme to 'find the best wines British wine drinkers have never heard of'.
Naked Wines invited 50 of their most active customers to Australia House in London who then voted on each wine put up for tasting.  The wine ratings were updated in real time and could be followed on the internet at this link.  Also live updates were provided on Twitter on what was happening at the tasting.  The top wines, which the Greedy Sheep Cabernet Merlot 2007 was one, were then invited to participate in an online auction where $100,000 of wine was going to be ordered.  Greedy Sheep won $11,400 of that pie - so the Cabernet Merlot 2007 is off to London!

The Sheep is off to Broome

Greedy Sheep has won a major deal with APT Kimberley Wilderness Adventures to supply wine for their exclusive Wilderness Lodges and Camps in the outback. Previously KWA had used generic 'Wine from Australia' but wanted to move towards a local WA product. Our first order of three pallets left for Broome in early March ready for the tourist season in the north part of Australia.

Sell out!

Our 2008 vintage has sold out, with a few lucky restaurants having enough stock to get through to May (see stockists below).
The Whites for season 2009 were harvested at Sarah and Brad's (Lattitude 33) in early March.  So we are on track for bottling the 2009 vintage in mid May.

We're giving Twitter a go.  Haven't heard of it?  Neither had we until the Naked Wines export deal.  It's based on the question "What are you doing?"
This may be a bit too much information for some people - but you'll see when large orders go out, how the vines are ripening up, when harvest occurs or... when we buy a tractor.  Have a look via the link below:
